Student Camp 2025: Unstoppable

MGC New Life Christian Academy (MGCNLCA) students took part in the annual LifeCamp Student Edition, themed “Unstoppable,” from February 27, 2025 to March 1, 2025 at the CCT Tagaytay Retreat and Training Center.

The three-day event featured activities, games, and discussions where students were able to spend time with their schoolmates and grow in their walk with the Lord.

Former MGCNLCA teacher Danny Ching and Grace Christian Church Senior Pastor Reverend Stephen Tan spoke to the Grades 7 to 9 and Grades 10 to 12 students, respectively, with each message guided by the camp’s theme verse, Ephesians 3:20.

The first day of the camp opened with acquaintance games inspired by the well-known Korean TV show Squid Game, involving a six-station circle setup for multiple mini-games.

Later that day, two sessions entitled “Unstoppable Identity” and “Unstoppable Purpose” were held, reminding the students to be set apart and to pursue God’s calling. The speakers shared tips on how to assess one’s character, deal with one’s conviction of the heart, and determine God’s purpose for one’s life using the “8 Road Signs.” Group discussions led by the students’ respective mentors followed every session.

On the second day, after attending the final session about “Unstoppable Growth” in their relationships with Christ, delegates took part in a jam-packed sportsfest. Groups were divided into teams of blue and red, which battled in five different stations scattered throughout CCT. All five games shared a common goal: to collect more balls in their team’s color than the opposing team.

Participants competed in different challenges to claim as many balls while wearing 3D-colored glasses, escaping defenders in a game of patintero, avoiding balls thrown in dodgeball, being “frozen” by “sharks” in the pool, and getting exhausted from climbing up and down the hill. At the end, the blue team claimed victory with a total of 2544 balls, against the red team’s tally of 2440.

After the sportsfest, groups bonded together through a special activity involving a drawing game and reflection time. This was followed by Dedication Night with the topic “Unstoppable Savior,” allowing delegates to choose among three paths: acceptance (One-Way), recommitment (Yield), or commitment to full-time ministry (No U-Turn). A campfire night, where students sang praises outdoors around a bonfire, closed the second day of the camp.

On the third and final day, students were randomly assigned to bigger groups to share their testimonies on how the Lord had worked in their lives throughout the camp. A closing ceremony to officially end the camp was held afterwards.

First-time attendee and Nazareth student Nina Isabelle Mateo shared, “I enjoyed [the] praise and worship songs, chatting with my friends, getting closer to the Achis, [playing in] sportsfest, and being able to strengthen my relationship with God.”

Meanwhile, senior and Zion student Petrice Elizah Lim expressed, “Through this camp, I was able to reconnect with the Lord and strengthen my bonds with my friends during the bonfire night.”

The Off-campus Student Camp 2025 consisted of 331 students, 66 mentors, and four advisers. Fifty-four of the delegates served as camp officers, with Zion student Annika Kaitlynn Chong and Olive student Miles Vincent Co as Camp Directors, and School Principal Evangeline Co as Camp Adviser.

Meanwhile, New Lifers who were not able to go to CCT Tagaytay had their own two-day camp at MGC New Life Christian Academy.

Around 125 students attended the In-House Student Camp last February 27 to 28 at the auditorium, also with the theme “Unstoppable,” with Senior High School teacher Richelle Kho as Camp Director.

The camp started with the delegates engaging in acquaintance games to get to know each other. Guided by the theme verse, Ephesians 3:20, Pastor Victor Araneta from Victory Christian Fellowship then shared messages on the topics “Unstoppable Identity” and “Unstoppable Purpose.” He assured the students that they are not accidents, but were created by God with love and purpose. “Our value is in our God-given identity. You are not an afterthought,” said Araneta.

In the afternoon, the in-house delegates created clay models of the representations of their identity and purpose based on the learnings and takeaways they got from the speaker’s two sessions in the morning.

The second day kicked off with a group devotion about “The Unstoppable God,” as facilitated by the camp mentors. Afterward, Araneta shared the last theme message, “The Unstoppable Jesus,” focusing on finding strength and salvation in Jesus Christ, who redeemed our God-given identity. In the same session, MGCNLCA alumnus Moses Co also shared his testimony about finding his way back to God after his struggle with vices.

This was capped by a commitment ceremony, where students choose among three paths they wanted to take: No U-turn (committing to full-time ministry), Yield (recommitting to the Lord), and Stop (accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior). Afterwards, delegates then wrote and shared testimonies about their experiences and takeaways from the camp.

To end the two-day camp, students participated in a sportsfest with the theme “Unstoppable Growth” at the school gym and 2nd floor turf, featuring six games: Red Light, Green Light, war zone, obstacle course, wire challenge, water balloon toss, and six-legged race. The sportsfest was facilitated by the teachers of the P.E. Department.
