Olive And Patmos Students Paint New Memories In JS Prom 2024

Patmos and Olive students set the night ablaze with a burst of colors at the electrifying Junior Senior Promenade last April 26, held at the glamorous Dusit Thani Hotel. Taking cues from the iconic French impressionist painter, the ballroom looked straight out of an enchanting garden in Giverny, France, as it shimmered with the captivating theme of Claude Monet.

The evening commenced with a procession, where students made a graceful entrance into the ballroom, dressed in their finest outfits. Following this, Junior High School B Supervisor Raquiel Pinlac extended a warm welcome to all attendees in her opening remarks.

The announcement of the highly anticipated awards ensued. Joshua Aiden Lim and Bellina Patrice Fontarum claimed the titles of Mr. and Ms. Junior, while Rhadley Cyril Tan and Cara Elise Gohoc were crowned Mr. and Ms. Senior. In a new tradition, last year’s Ms. Alma Mater, Raine Alexis Kho, crowned this year’s recipient, Annika Kaitlynn Chong.

The atmosphere crackled with inspiration as the father-son duo of Jimmy Yaokasin Jr., esteemed board member of the school, and MGCNL alumnus Joshner Yaokasin, delivered a powerful message urging students to follow God’s will, especially in the coming new chapters in their lives.

During the turnover ceremony, outgoing Student Government (SG) President Janelle Dominique Lim handed the key of responsibility to incoming president Elijah Samuel Tongco. The symbolic candlelight ceremony further underscored the transition of roles, as juniors and seniors embraced their newfound responsibilities with grace and determination.

Adding to the enchantment, a talented ensemble of grade 10 students serenaded the audience with soul-stirring melodies, while Bingo enthusiasts eagerly vied for coveted prizes throughout the evening.

The highlight of the evening, the cotillion, featured selected students from both Olive and Patmos dazzling the crowd with their graceful moves. Following the dance, the remaining awards were presented. Olive’s Nathan Gabriel Hao and Patmos’ Min Joo Kim, earned the esteemed titles of Mr. and Ms. Etiquette for their display of good manners and proper poise. Trey William Chua of batch Olive and Cate Gian Chua of batch Patmos reigned supreme as King and Queen of the night, while grade 10 students Joshua Clark Tan and Sofie Jillian Tan were recognized for their captivating pictures taken during the night.

Signaling the end of the formal proceedings, winners opened the dance floor, marking the start of the prom after-party full of laughter and dances.
