MGCNLCA Teachers Recognized as Guiding Stars in Teachers’ Day 2024
It was a day of fellowship and fun-filled activities for the teachers of MGC New Life Christian Academy (MGCNLCA) last September 26 during the celebration of Teachers’ Day 2024.
Organized by the Student Government (SG) and Coral Reef Fellowship (CRF), the auditorium was decked out in celestial-colored balloons and decorations to go with this year’s theme, “Polaris: Guiding Star.”
To kick off the fun, a raffle was held where the winners received a wide array of prizes, such as gift certificates, appliances, cash, and even an iPad. The teachers then went into breakout groups where they got to participate in different games and activities including Pass the Message, Guess Who: Teachers’ Edition, Pinoy Henyo, and Minute to Win It.
Afterwards, alumnus Benjamin Ernest Lim from Batch 9 honored the teachers for their tireless efforts in being the guiding stars of the students of MGCNLCA. Lim also shared how the teachers have shaped his journey and how the values they instilled in him still remain in his heart and mind to this day.
Following Lim’s testimony, School Principal Evangeline Co reminded the teachers of the important role they have in shaping society, emphasizing the calling to shine their light as the guiding stars of the future generation.
The teachers then enjoyed a special Teachers’ Day AVP and a special number of “You’ll Be in My Heart” by Whales.
As the event came to a close, School Director Helen Villanueva shared the testimonies of MGCNLCA alumni and how the teachers have inspired them, leaving the teachers with some words of encouragement.
To end the day, the teachers were treated to a buffet lunch at The Alley by Vikings BGC.
“The Teachers’ Day celebration at MGCNLCA was both inspiring and heartwarming. I felt the love, care, and support from the administrators, colleagues, and parents alike. … What moved me the most was the inspiring and encouraging message from an alumnus, … [and] the heartfelt message from our School Principal, Mrs. Co, [also] added even more meaning to the celebration,” expressed new Junior High School teacher Elgin Mabolo.
