MGCNLCA’s School Director Awarded as Godly Education Champion
MGC New Life Christian Academy (MGCNLCA) School Director Helen Villanueva was given the Godly Education Champion Award for her efforts in promoting godly values at the 4th National Convention of the Christian Educators’ Network (CEdNet) held in MGCNLCA last September 7.
In her talk entitled “Creating a Godly Educational Environment in Christian Schools,” Villanueva focused on the positive impact that integrating Christian values into the curriculum has on students’ development. She also emphasized the role of educators in modeling these principles and values, highlighting that education is not just about academics, but nurturing well-rounded individuals who will stand firm on their faith.
Alongside Villanueva, other plenary speakers like former Supreme Court Chief Justice Ma. Lourdes Sereno were also given the Godly Education Champion award for their talks at the national convention.
“I hope to see educators who are deeply committed to their calling and … teachers who inspire their students to pursue excellence not just academically but also in character and service to others. I also hope that future educators will prioritize collaboration and community engagement, recognizing the vital role they play in shaping a better godly society,” remarked Villanueva.
Aside from Villanueva, MGCNLCA International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program Coordinator Emie Joane Guintu was also invited as a breakout session speaker, facilitating a workshop focusing on equipping educators with methods and approaches to make an inclusive and collaborative learning environment for students.
Founded by the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC), CEdNet aims to gather Christian educators from all over the Philippines who will help and support each other in upholding Christian values in the education sector, ultimately impacting the future generation.
