The Future We Want: MGCNLCA Celebrates UN Day

After the class cancellations last October 23 and 24, the MGC New Life Christian Academy community resumed United Nations (UN) Day celebrations from November 4 to 8 with parades, exhibitions, and gallery walk-throughs spearheaded by the school’s Araling Panlipunan Department and Grades 1 to 10 students.

Guided by its theme, “The Future We Want,” students from the Early Years (EY) Department to the Junior High School (JHS) Department showcased their advocacies and cultural diversity with various festivities.

EY students kicked off the activities last October 21 with a parade wherein they dressed in traditional clothing from various nations around the world. JHS students began celebrations as they explored cultural identity and the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, commonly known as the 17 Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs.

The Grades 7 to 9 students learned from the infographics and exhibitions in a gallery walk designed by the Grade 10 students, which aimed to inspire action and raise awareness on various global issues.

The Upper Primary Years students spent the week viewing cultural exhibits, learning about ecosystems, and instilling change through the law-making process. Meanwhile, the Lower Primary Years students showcased flags from different countries.
