MGCNLCA Students Prove Their Mettle at the Tao Ke Business Summit 2025
Grade 10 Patmos students of MGC New Life Christian Academy (MGCNLCA) received the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Leadership Award at the Tao Ke Business Summit held at Jubilee Christian Academy last January 20 for their product concept “Moo-thane,” as their team demonstrated exceptional leadership and teamwork while developing their ESG solution.
Twenty groups from various schools across the Philippines created business pitches aligned with ESG principles to cultivate innovation, collaboration, and entrepreneurial skills, with MGCNLCA sending four groups of Patmos students. Each group was given three to five minutes to present their products to a panel of judges who were also the guest speakers of the event.
With the theme “Think Fast, Talk Smart: Unite Pitch-off,” guest speakers, led by Small & Medium Enterprise Lawyer Attorney John Evan Miguel, marketing book author Cynthia Zarate, and Head of the Acquisition Department Product Division and book author Aquiles Sustine Sansing, shared insights on stewardship, effective communication, sustainable business practices, and various types of business pitches.
Of the four Patmos groups that participated, the team of Soleil Dionisio, Hannah Isabelle Chiu, Christian Lucas Garcia, Mikaela Denise Co, and Carl Matthew Cu qualified for the final phase, where they presented their winning pitch, “Moo-ving Forward with Moo-thane: Converting Biogenic Methane into Renewable Fuel.”
Dionisio remarked, “Through this Tao Ke Business Summit, I learned the value of challenging oneself and stepping outside of one’s comfort zone. Overall, this event was rewarding because my group was able to develop an original product and get recognition for our hard work.”
Other Patmos participants include Jiayu Cai, Drew Kenzo Chua, Ralph Jacob Fontarum, Yvonne Elisha Yao, Tyler Whang, Yejoon Cho, Rafael Jordan Antonio, Von Matthew Manalastas, Zachary Ethan Yao, Justin Filio, Arron Sunny Lim, Kervin Gabriel Chua, Jairus Jacob Lee, Shanley Tiu, and Pristine J Tsai.
The Tao Ke Business Summit is an annual event that brings together bright, young entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds, providing participants with a platform to showcase innovative business ideas that emphasize sustainability and positive societal impact.
