MGCNLCA Welcomes Fresh Faces at New Parents’ Event

MGC New Life Christian Academy (MGCNLCA) formally welcomed over sixty new families to the community last September 21, following two years of online introductions. This special event took place at the school auditorium.

Hosted by School Administrator Joanna Uy and Human Resources Department Head Jocelyn Lim, the event began with a breakfast buffet for parents to acquaint themselves with each other while playing the games “Zou, Zou, Zou” (走走走) and Human Bingo with their children.

In her welcoming remarks, School Director Helen Villanueva emphasized that MGCNLCA is not only an academic institution but also a close-knit family. The newly-appointed director stressed the significance of imparting Christian values during a child's formative years, highlighting MGCNLCA as the ideal environment for such.

The event also welcomed back MGCNLCA alumni who have decided to send their children to their alma mater.  An alumna and now school parent expressed, “MGC[NLCA] feels like home, that’s why I’m so happy to send my kids here.”

Current and former parents of New Lifers then gave testimonials regarding their experiences with regard to collaboration with the school and how it has nurtured their children’s talents and skills through effective educational methodologies. They also stressed on the exceptional extracurricular programs and Biblical integration in the school’s curriculum.

The new parents also participated in breakout groups and sang campfire songs with their co-parents at the school, providing an opportunity for them to address their inquiries and foster camaraderie.

A parent and breakout facilitator remarked, “As a parent who has been here at MGC New Life for nearly a decade, it is exciting to see new parents embark on this journey with their children, as they grow with each other and [with] the school.”
