E-Sports Competitions Debut in Game Night 2024

As a fitting end to the third quarter, high school students took a break from school deadlines and had fun with their friends at this year’s carnival-themed Game Night held in the auditorium last March 8.

Game Night committee head and Student Government (SG) Business Manager Adrian Liong shared that the SG organized Game Night: Carnival Blitz to “provide an opportunity for everyone to bond and relax with friends, especially since this quarter has been so stressful.”

The attendees played a curated selection of board, carnival, and console games, accompanied by music and snacks. The admission fee was P250 for those who pre-ordered and P300 for the walk-in guests.

SG also collaborated with the newly-formed E-Sports Club, led by junior high school teacher Wesley Mambiar, in holding tournaments for Street Fighter 6, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Brawl Stars. These tournaments allowed students to engage in a friendly competition. The winning players, Reece Lao (Street Fighter 6), Gyu Jung Kim (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate), and the group of Gabriel Gaw, Francheska Tan, and Eli Tan (Brawl Stars), each earned a P500 cash prize.
