New Lifer Andre Aw Bags Bronze in IBO

Incoming Zion student Andre Gerard C. Aw brought honor to the country and to the school when he won bronze in the 34th International Biology Olympiad (IBO).

Held in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates from July 02-10, 2023, Aw was part of the Philippine delegation to the science olympiad, the first time an MGCNL student has taken part in this competition.

Over one thousand students, leaders, observers, and guests from over eighty countries from six continents participated in the IBO. The competition was held over two contest days with practical exams (typically four sessions of 1.5 hours) and theoretical exams (typically two sessions of 3 hours) along with a rest day in between.

International Science Olympiads such as the IBO are known as the highest level of secondary school competitions due to their academic rigor.
