MGC New Life Christian Academy Expands to the South
By 2027, a new MGC New Life Christian Academy (MGCNLCA) campus will rise in Alabang Global City.
This vision moved one step closer to reality as MGC New Life Christian Academy, Inc. (MGCNLCAI) and State Properties Corporation (SPC) formalized their partnership for the school expansion project through a lease contract signing held at the school auditorium on January 8, 2025.
With the theme “Expanding Horizons, Moving Forward in Faith,” MGCNLCA School Board Vice Chair Jimmy Yaokasin Jr. highlighted the school’s remarkable growth in recent years. He cited a significant rise in student enrollment and a growing waitlist, underscoring the pressing need for expansion.
“We really want to accommodate more students because we know that this is the ministry the Lord has entrusted to us,” said Yaokasin.
Yaokasin and School Board Chair James Tioco represented MGCNLCA in the contract signing, with Board Secretary Kenrick Chua serving as witness. Meanwhile, SPC was represented by its Chair and President Dr. Allen Roxas and Executive Vice President Mary Maquilan, with Phebe Chiong as their witness.
Under the agreement, SPC will provide a 5000-square-meter lot for the project. Construction is set to begin this year and is expected to be completed within two years. SPC’s Roxas reaffirmed their company’s commitment to supporting the expansion.
“Welcome to Alabang Global City, your new home in the south. SPC is privileged to be part of raising the future Filipino Christian nation-builders—young men and women to be taught, trained, and discipled to be and to lead like Jesus,” said Roxas.
Reflecting on MGCNLCA’s journey, School Director Helen Villanueva recounted God’s faithfulness through the challenges the school has faced over the years. While acknowledging the daunting nature of the new project, Villanueva expressed confidence in God’s guidance for MGC New Life Christian Academy.
“All of us here are called to go forward in obedience to His calling,” said Villanueva.
Tioco emphasized that the expansion is not merely about constructing buildings but advancing God’s kingdom on earth.
“It is about creating an environment where future generations can come to experience the love of Christ, grow in faith, and develop their giftedness to serve our Lord Jesus Christ and win others with their lives,” said Tioco.
Cityland Group of Companies Co-founder Dr. Andrew Liuson, one of the original incorporators of MGCNLCA, acknowledged that it is the Lord who will build the new campus and grant success to the project.
In addition to the school’s Board of Trustees and SPC representatives, the contract signing was witnessed by the school’s original incorporators, school leaders, alumni, parent representatives, as well as pastors and deacons from Makati Gospel Church.
MGCNLCA consultant Rev. Patricia Mae Capwell flew in from Iloilo to pray and intercede for the school expansion project, while the Upper Primary School Choir gave a heartfelt rendition of Let Your Love Rise and When You Believe as intermission number.
